Herbal Community

Here are some places and people that I'm connected with.  Check them out:

Check out Burlington's local source for herbs, herbal education, and walk-in health advice:

"RAILYARD Apothecary is Burlington’s local herbal apothecary. Our primary goal is to provide accessible, affordable medicinal herbs and education to the Burlington community, and beyond. All of our herbs are from organic and/or sustainable sources, either from local farms and forests, or from international distributors such as Mountain Rose Herbs. Our growing stock of herbs from local farmers and wild-crafters is helping to build a robust local herb market in Vermont.

"RAILYARD also holds weekly classes and events on a variety of topics including herbal medicine, nutrition, growing and harvesting herbs, astrology, and much more. During store hours, customers can stop in for a quick plant walk (seasonally), chat with our staff herbalists, or request a 15-minute walk-in consultation. RAILYARD works closely with the Burlington Herb Clinic next door, and can fill custom-blended herbal formulas for naturopaths, acupuncturists, and other local healthcare practitioners."

"The Burlington Herb Clinic is founded on the basis of balance, while viewing health as a continual practice of maintaining a relationship with our bodies through diet, herbs and lifestyle choices that are right for us as individuals and which supports our own innate healing capacity. We provide accurate and insightful information on both traditional and modern evidence-based approaches to health and wellness.

"We provide one-on-one educational services and health coaching to interested clients in a private and professional setting, centered on the use of herbs, nutrition, and exercise to support optimal health. The clinic is staffed by qualified herbalists who work collaboratively to ensure the highest quality of service for clients, and also to provide mentorship for fellow employees and aspiring clinical herbalists."

My most recent herbal alma mater.  Teachers at this school provided me three years of thorough education in human health and its relationship with plants, in addition to supervised clinical experience as an herbalist, an absolutely invaluable opportunity.  For any level of interest, beginner to advanced, I would very highly recommend checking this place out.

"We are a non-profit organization dedicated to providing healthcare resources grounded in Nature. Our work brings clinical herbalism to community practice through the weaving of science, spirit and grassroots activism. We provide one of the nation’s most extensive clinical training opportunities in herbal medicine, rooted in deep connection with the plants and place."
